Mange Fox Rescue – July 29,2025

On Tuesday, July 29, 2025, two representatives from Animal Education and Rescue Organization (A.E.R.O.) trapped and retrieved a juvenile red fox from a residential window well in Vienna, VA.

In addition to mange, the fox had an oozing, open wound on the upper side of both rear legs. The fox was treated at a wildlife rehabilitation facility for dehydration, mange, worms, and wounds.

We at A.E.R.O. our happy to report that on Saturday, August 9, 2025, two A.E.R.O. representatives released the fox back into her territory.  She was healthy, strong, and had started regrowing her fur.  The wounds were closed and starting to scab over.  She soon reunited with her clan (skulk).
