Olivia LoBalbo

Gainesville

Olivia is the founder of AERO and the Mange Fox program. Getting calls almost daily about Mange Fox was breaking her heart, the old rule of thumb was that there wasn’t anything to be done legally about them. She set off on a mission to come up with a plan to be able to legally contain and treat these animals using best practices and humane methods. Today she is still a reahbber and the director of our organization.

Elieen Thawley

Hello, Eilleen here, I am retired from Fairfax County Public Schools and also a Marine Corps veteran. After recently retiring I really wanted to find some place where I could volunteer that would make a difference. While searching I had a little situation occur in my own yard that would make me realize that my purpose had found me. After cutting down a dead tree we discovered that the tree was a home for a family of baby squirrels. I ended up researching wildlife rescues to find out how to reunite the 5 babies with their mother. I was able to reunite them and actually watched the mother carry each baby safely up a different tree. This is when I realized that I wanted to see what wildlife rescues were all about and help in anyway that I could. This is when I came across AERO and learned about the Mangy Fox Program. Now I volunteer with AERO by knitting nests, making hammocks and other sewn items. I also help distribute cages to folks that want to help us treat foxes that have mange.

Adam Beidler

My name is Adam Beidler. I retired from Federal government service in 2023 after a 34 year career. I am a cancer survivor, who enjoys bird and wildlife watching, reading, and running. I got involved in the fox mange program when one of our neighborhood foxes lost almost all of his fur. My wife Jane and I had rescued birds, raccoons, and squirrels around our house, so even though we never caught the fox, we donated to the program and  started volunteering to work with home owners who called AERO about sick and injured foxes.
