Overview

A.E.R.O. is excited to announce our annual Rabies Vaccine Reimbursement Lottery! This initiative is designed to support our licensed wildlife rehabilitators and caregivers by providing financial assistance for the initial rabies vaccine series. By empowering more individuals to handle rabies-vectored species safely, we aim to enhance our conservation efforts and increase the number of animals we can save.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the reimbursement lottery, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be a licensed wildlife rehabilitator, WCO or caregiver with the Department of Wildlife Resources.
  • Must take or be willing to take wildlife from A.E.R.O.’s intake line.
  • Must not have previously received reimbursement for the initial rabies vaccine series from A.E.R.O.

Important Dates

  • Application Deadline: June 30th
  • Winner Announcement: June 30th on a facebook live event. We will then contact the winner via text and/or email

What’s Covered

  • The reimbursement covers the initial rabies vaccine series (not booster shots).

How to Apply

  1. Complete the Online Application Form: Fill out the designated application form (click here).
  2. Submit Your Application: Ensure all sections are completed accurately and submit your form by June 30th.

The selected recipient will be notified on June 30th. It is important to complete the vaccine series by the end of the year when permitting is due. Remember, it is the recipient’s responsibility to arrange the vaccine appointments, though A.E.R.O. is available to provide guidance through the process.

Reimbursement Process

  • Contact your primary insurance provider to inquire about coverage for the pre-exposure rabies vaccine. Some insurance plans may cover a portion or the bulk of the vaccine costs. If that is the case we may be able to pull a second winner.
  • After completing the vaccine series, submit all receipts to A.E.R.O. within one month of completion for reimbursement processing.

Terms and Conditions

  • The reimbursement is non-transferable and only applicable to the selected winner.
  • If the vaccine series is not completed by the end of the year, the recipient will not be eligible to apply for the lottery again in the future.
  • Accurate and timely submission of vaccine receipts is mandatory for reimbursement.
